Born and raised in Auckland, Laura grew up with a love of impersonations and voices. In high school she began to pursue acting seriously, and at nineteen was accepted into Toi Whakaari, completing a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting. Immediately upon graduating she joined the cast of New Zealand’s beloved soap opera, Shortland Street, playing the villainous yet victimised Dr. Victoria Anderton. Since departing the show with a grisly death, she has worked with director Bruno DuBois as the lead in his dystopian short film Zealandia, and joined the cast of American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story as calm powerhouse Christie Hefner. Laura has also forayed into more physical work, working with Weta Digital as a motion capture performer for Luc Besson’s Valerian, and is currently training at an Auckland kickboxing gym. Laura supports locally made ethical and sustainable fashion and is a strong advocate for animal welfare having worked with various organisations. She is also passionate about sexual violence prevention aligning herself with any causes to prevent domestic and sexual abuse.
